My Favourite Christmas Movie♥

Without a doubt we all love a good old Christmas movie to get us in the mood for the festive season and we all have our personal favourites. So today I thought I would pop a little post up of what my favourite Christmas movie of all time is...

I am a sucker for anything with a little bit of romance in and when Jude Law is involved you won't be able to get in the way of the tv for at least 2 hours. I really do love this film a lot and find that the story line is brilliant and how 2 strangers can make each others lives change for the better. With a star filled cast and amazing acting this film is a must see for anybody who hasn't watched it.

What is your favourite Christmas movie of all time?

Batiste Dry Shampoo WILD

A month ago I was sent a sample of Batiste WILD Dry Shampoo to review from a PR company who I have written reviews for in the past. As I am a huge lover of their range already I couldn't wait to get my hands on the new WILD can, for one I am a lover of all things leopard print and I know that my hair works wonders with the Batiste Dry Shampoo.

Batiste Dry Shampoo banishes oily roots, giving dull, lifeless hair the makeover it needs without any water. A quick burst revitalises hair, adds body and texture and leaves it feeling clean and fresh too. No need to worry about skipping a shampoo.

I am a huge fan of Batiste Dry Shampoo and I use it every other day when I wake up in the morning feeling too lazy to wash my hair, as I really do need that extra 15 minutes sleep instead of doing my hair. Batiste works wonders on my roots to banish anyway the unwanted oils and for giving added volume.

The WILD Batiste Dry Shampoo is fragranced with a feminine and daring Oriental aroma with top notes of cocoa, a floral heart and sensual vanilla, musk and wood base notes. Quick and easy to use, Batiste Dry Shampoo Wild refreshes hair between washes, leaving it revived, energised and roaring to go. Personally, I adore the scent of this more than any of the others that I have tried within the range and I am a BIG fan of the Tropical scented.

If you'd like to get your hands on one of the purrfect WILD cans of Batiste Dry Shampoo then simply pop down to your local Boots and pick one up for only £2.99 for a 200ml can.

Manchester: Beauty Event & Blogger Meet

On Sunday 16th October I headed off to Manchester with my best friend Lisa for the Professional Beauty North 2011 event, I was really excited for the event as there were so many things that I wanted to see and of course have a little shopping spree for some beauty goodies. The most exciting thing about the day was the fact that I was going to meet the lovely Charlotte and Georgina, I have got to know both girls from the More! magazine Facebook page and their blogs. So this means that I have crossed off number 16 on my 22 things list which was to meet at least one online friend.

When we got off of the train Charlotte and Georgina were waiting for us and it was as though we had known each other for so many years, we all instantly clicked and had such a great day. The event was SO busy, we managed to spend around 2-3 hours at the event, where I brought some gorgeous nail varnishes, nail wheels and a pre cut fruit wheel. I was shocked that I didn't buy more than I had, but there was a lot of the same items around and the prices weren't exactly kind to the old purse. After the event the four of us headed off to Pizza Hut, which was super yummy and we had a really funny waiter (who didn't want to interupt us!).

Nail Varnishes I brought at the event, such gorgeous colours. Look our for a post on these and swatches soon

Nail wheels and fruit slices

After stuffing our faces me and Lisa decided to call it a day, as we were so tired and all of the shops around Manchester were shutting at 5pm, so we all headed off to the train station and had a mini photo session. It was so funny, we were posing and having such a good time, not realising that Charlottes boyfriend was sat watching us in the car (hehe!).

I had such an amazing day and meeting both Charlotte and Georgina was so nice and I cannot wait until we do so again, they are both such nice girls and I'd say that their blogs really do show their personalities.

More! Magazine Shoot Photos♥

Back in July I went down to London for a photo shoot with More! magazine for a summer wardrobe feature, I cannot believe how long a go that seems now, Madness!

As my regular readers and followers will know I was over the moon that I got chosen for this brilliant opportunity and I really will remember the day for ever. Once the magazine came out I was then able to get the photos sent to me on a disc, after a lot of bugging the lovely Georgina from More! (sorry about that), I have now got my disc and as promised I would share with you some of the photos.

REVIEW: Batiste Dry Shampoo Blush

I am a huge lover of anything to do with beauty and that will improve my looks/hair within minutes. So this means that I am a lover of Batiste dry shampoo, I have already blogged about the lovely Tropical scented dry shampoo which you can read here.

I just wanted to do a mini post on the Blush scent dry shampoo that I have been using quite a lot during the past few weeks. This really has been a life saver when it comes to early mornings getting ready for work and those lazy days when washing my hair has just simply been a no go.

I love how fresh and floral the scent of Blush is this is shown via the visuals on the can in baby pink and bright pink patterns. I scent is not over powering at all, if it were then I wouldn't be using it over and over again, this has a subtle sweet floral scent to it which is perfect for the summer months.

I would recommend anyone to buy the Blush scent, especially if you are going on holiday or to a festival as it will keep your hair in tip top condition as well as smelling utterly gorgeous.

Have any of you girls tried this? If so, what did you think to it? Or do you have a different favourite scented dry shampoo that you use?  Let me know by leaving a comment!

Photoshoot with More! magazine

So as most of you already know I had a photoshoot with More! magazine in July for a Summer Special feature and it came out on Tuesday 2nd August. You can read all about my day with the gorgeous and fantastic team right here

I am actually featured on the left hand side of the front cover, which for starters I cannot get over, as if I am on the front cover of a magazine, AHHHH!!

Inside the magazine is a double 2 page featuring myself and the 3 other girls in our Summer outfits for the day and evening. I would like to point out at this point that the night-time outfit is not mine, I originally took along my denim playsuit but because my lunchtime outfit included denim they didn't want me to look the same for all 3 photos. But they have only used the beach wear and night-time wear, which I am a little gutted about as I could have wore my playsuit after all!

I had no idea that men would be rating our looks as well, so this came as a huge shock when I saw it on the front cover preview on Monday 1st August, read the post I did here. I was already very nervous to see how the pictures would turn out but this made me a little more on edge to see what these guys would think of my style.

So this is the picture that was chosen for the beach wear look and I have to say that I LOVE IT!! I felt so confident in front of the camera in my bikini and with the other girls and because I was in my own clothes.

Marko (style journalist) - I like the style and cut of this bikini. All Rachel needs is some chunky beach jewellery
Pete (sound technician) - This bikini is a bit bland, but Rachel seems laid-back and like she'd be fun on the beach
Dan (holiday firm worker) - I like the print on this bikini, but I don't think the style is flattering on any girl.

To say that I wasn't 100% sure about the outfit that I got styled into I have to say that it doesn't look that bad on the picture, which is a good job really. It really isn't something that I would usually wear, maybe the trousers but not the top.

Marko - This is ticking all the right boxes. It's got volume, it's bright and patterned. There are a lot of statement pieces, though - I would have styled the palazzos with a neutral vest. But Rachel pulls this off with confidence.
Pete - Rachel looks great in this outfit. It's a bold look, but she seems comfortable - glam but not high-maintenance.
Dan - I’m not keen on this. It covers up her fab figure and does her no favours. Not a fan.

The comments I got on both outfits were rather mixed from each of the guys, but I have to say that overall I cannot really complain as they did say some really nice things and as I always say everyone has their own opinions on style!
I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has been out and brought this copy of More! magazine and for all of your lovely comments on the photos - It really has been overwhelming and has made me feel a lot more confident with my style. I will be getting some images sent to me on a disc very soon so I will do a post on some of my favourite photos from that in the near future.

I just thought I would let you all know that my photoshoot with More! magazine will be out in the shops TOMORROW (Tuesday 2nd August 2011)!

Every Monday afternoon More! upload a sneek peek of their front cover to their Facebook page for us to all guess who will be on the cover and in the left hand corner you can see me (well part of me as they cut some of it off as to keep us all guessing). It also reads 'Men rate REAL GIRLS' beach looks' - which I had no idea about and I am totally nervous now ahhhhh!!

My Day With More! Magazine

Hey girls :) I hope you have all have a lovely sunny weekend, the weather was really nice where I live - for a change!
Well as most of you know yesterday (Monday) I had my photo shoot with More! magazine and as promised I would do a post on my day and how it all went etc. First of all I just want to say a HUGE thank you to all of my lovely friends who tx, sent Facebook messages and Tweets wishing me good luck and to have lots of fun – all of your support really did get me through the day!

So I was up at 6am to get a shower, do my hair and finish getting my bag and case ready for the shoot, at 7am me and my dad went to pick my best friend Lisa up, as she was coming with me on the shoot for support and so we could have a fun time in London after. We managed to sort our tickets out straight away for the trains (which we were really panicking about) and got an earlier train from Mansfield to Nottingham, we got the Nottingham train station early so managed to grab a cuppa tea, but no bacon cob as they didn’t sell them, how rude!! We then got onto our train to go to London at around 9am ready for the 2 hour train journey to London, we had a big bag full of goodies, magazines and all girly things to keep us entertained and that it did. When we arrived in London we got the underground tube to Liverpool Street station as the shoot really was only a 5 minute walk from there, honestly I hadn’t ever seen a place so busy and hot it really was a scorcher.

Once I arrived at the shoot all of the girls were really nice, especially Georgina from More! magazine, she was super bubbly and made me feel really comfortable with the whole situation as I was a tad nervous- as you can all imagine! There were 3 other girls at the shoot and from what I could gather they were all from an agency, so I did feel a little uneasy around them to start with, but soon got into the swing of things. Georgina asked me some questions for the mini interview part of the shoot and then I was in hair and makeup ready to do the evening shoot first. My make up was kept quite natural with golden and coral shades which I really loved after seeing myself in the mirror, especially my eyes they really did stand out. I then went into styling for my evening outfit and I had taken my denim playsuit which they all loved but because my daytime outfit was also denim they didn’t want me to look the same it all of the shots, so I had a change of around 3 outfits for the shoot until an outfit was finally decided. The outfit I won’t say what it is, I will let you all wait to go out and buy the issue, but one thing I will say is that I wouldn’t ever have dreamed of wearing it but it did suit me to an extent.
After I had my hair, makeup and outfit sorted we then had our lunch and at this point it was around 2pm, madness really as I was only expecting the shoot to last around 2-3hours max! I had a lovely chilli chicken wrap yum yum, you know me too well girls I do love my chilli kick! After lunch we got onto the first shoot and it took around 45 minutes for the first set of photos to be sorted and to find the perfect picture. Once the evening shoot had finished, we then went into hair and makeup again for it to be toned down to a daytime look, which meant that my eyes were toned down and natural makeup and lip gloss was applied. At this point I really was in love with my hair, I had it all curly and wavy and it really did look lovely, so I am really looking forward to seeing these pictures. We did the swimwear shoot second and I felt more comfortable doing this as I was in my own clothes and no shoes so I was able to move around freely without worrying if I would fall over or something like that. The second shoot didn’t take that long around 20 minutes or something like that, but it didn’t feel like it as I really was having a lot of fun doing this shoot.
The last shoot was our day time wear, which we had our bikinis on and then just something that we would use to cover ourselves up if we were going to lunch or something. I have denim hot pants with a denim tie crop top on and I felt so glam and comfortable at the same time, I had to have my hair curled again as my hair is quite heavy the ringlets did keep falling out, but within 5 minutes I was in front of the camera again and shooting began for our last slot of the day. This shot took around the same amount as the bikini but it seemed to have flown by, by the time I got into it all and started to feel more relaxed that was it, it was over!

The photographer, makeup artist and the team were really nice and made me feel so relaxed and comfortable, the stylist knew exactly how I wanted to be styled and she was amazing and gave us lots of gossip. So I arrived at the shoot at 12 and didn’t end up leaving until just after 5.30pm, so well over 5 hours to get 3 photos for the magazine, but it really was a wonderful experience and I have that to treasure for the rest of my life. I really do feel so lucky to have been chosen to take part and especially as I have been a huge More! magazine fan since I can remember and buy it every week. It really will seem surreal when I buy the copy that I am in modelling my own style and fashion for summer.
I know you are all probably thinking ‘well come on then tell us when it will be out’ and that I can tell you will be TWO WEEKS TODAY!! I cannot believe that it will be going into the magazine so soon, I am really excited and very nervous to see the outcome of the photos and what the picture editor choose, but I have 100% faith and confidence in them – especially with the amount of photos that were taken. I will be getting the images onto a disc at some point so I will of course be able to show you all more photos from what will be in the magazine.

As the shoot took longer than expected we didn't get to do anything that we had planned to do after as our train was arriving at around 6.30pm. I was ever so gutted that I didn't get the chance to meet the lovely Tanya Howard from Secrets from behind the mask, as we were really looking forward to it all, but hopefully will be doing in October, I believe? Once again, thank you to everyone for all of your lovely comments and the support you have given me, it really has been so nice knowing I have the support from all of you as well as my friends and family at home too, you are all my little stars!!

Exciting News

Ok girls I have had some really exciting news over the past 2 days, I haven't said anything until now because I have been trying to sort plans out myself so I have been a little all over the place ahhhh!!

But on Wednesday afternoon I got an email from my favourite magazine (More! magazine) asking if I would like to take part in a photo shoot with some other More! Readers/fans, of course I said YES straight away.

I was sat reading the email with my mouth open as I couldn't believe it, I have entered so many different things for More! and haven't ever been the lucky one, but I never gave up and it just goes to show that it pays off.

I am very excited and very nervous as well, I am a poser when I am around people I know but I have no idea how I will be on the day. I am sure I will have a lot of fun with the team and the other readers too, which will be exciting to see who else has been chosen and if I know of any of them.
